Foiling and Laminating is about to get faster…much faster!

Vivid Laminating Technologies have raised the bar once again for print foiling and lamination with the launch of their new 20 metre-per-minute system at PrintWeekLive (Wasps Arena 7-8 March). Doubling the speed of the previous model to halve production time is great news for those producing high-end, long-run digital print jobs of up to SRA2. With Express Foiling as standard on the new system users can foil at up to 5m/minute with no extra cost, increasing system efficiency.

The use of pneumatic rollers for lamination, splitting and in-feed ensures greater accuracy. Extra pneumatic pressure is applied for a better bond which eliminates peeling off and reduces wastage and also allows standard films to be used to further save money. An integrated temperature control chip ensures that high-quality foiling is produced with ease and consistency. The Matrix offers an Omron PLC Touch-Screen control panel for simple and intuitive job set-up. A wide range of BOSS films and Aqua Aura foils are available for use with the Matrix range.

Like its predecessors, this latest addition to the Matrix range is modular so its capability can grow with the customer. It can be purchased as a manual feed system initially with the option to retrofit an Omni Flow Deep Pile Feeder at any point in the future; the Omni Flow automatically feeds sheets into the system to save time and free up the operator to work on other jobs. Similarly, a customer with an existing 10m/min system can add an Onmi Flow secure in the knowledge that, if they upgrade to the faster machine in the future, the Omni Flow will work seamlessly with either model.

Vivid Product Manager, Lewis Evans, said “Building on our award-winning Matrix range, this new system offers all the same benefits of its predecessor but with twice the speed, the footprint is similar, and the modular design make this system an easy swap-out upgrade over existing equipment”.
